CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Camden authorities say a man was killed and a woman was seriously burned when a vacant city row home caught fire, destroying both the residence and an adjacent home.
A firefighter was also injured while battling the blaze, which broke out around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
Shortly after the fire was extinguished, rescue crews found the man’s body inside the home where the blaze began. The woman, who was burned over more than 80 percent of her body, was found outside the dwelling.
The woman was hospitalized in critical condition, and authorities were still working Saturday afternoon to identify her and the man who was killed.
The firefighter was treated for an ankle injury.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but it’s not considered suspicious.
